Hi, I'm Lindsey, the person behind Expanded Spaces
Six years ago, after many decades of working in hospitality and the arts and entertainment business, I hung up my well worn boots to focus exclusively on the somatic, movement, bodywork and therapeutic and most importantly, breathwork practices that have accompanied me for the last 25 years
The study and practise of these disciplines initially stemmed from an unconscious desire to heal my own personal history of unmet trauma
The wisdom of my body and it’s deep longing for mental, emotional and spiritual healing, kept pace with the unhelpful coping strategies (namely alcohol) that I used to keep difficult feelings at bay. Breathwork consistently led me back on to the path that helped me witness, work with self compassion and alleviate that discomfort
Pranayama, (Yogic breathing practises), Meditation and Conscious Connected Breathwork have been integral in showing me that there is a path back to being and feeling safe and at home in myself and to really appreciate the miracle and joy of being in this body and being alive
Practise has shown me that with patience, curiosity and courage, space can be made for all parts of ourselves to be revealed, heard and held with tenderness and compassion. These parts can then be integrated into a more expanded understanding of our selves and our experience.
From these new perspectives we have the opportunity to make new choices
I believe in the power of Conscious Connected Breathing and Embodiment practises as a catalyst for transformation and positive change and I am delighted to be able to share this work with you
